Civil Dialogue Groups (CDG) meetings: Report on wine, 14 May
IFOAM Organics Europe’s office staff, our members and experts regularly advise and discuss policy options with the Commission and other stakeholders at meetings of the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI)’s Civil Dialogue Groups (CDG).
To make our voice heard we participated to the CDG meeting on wine on 14 May 2024. On the agenda:
- State of play of the wine market in the EU and trade development;
- Implementation of new wine labelling rules under the Common Organisation of Markets (CMO) Regulation;
- Oenological practices for de-alcoholised and partially de-alcoholised wines;
- US – EU Wine Dialogue meeting;
- Exchange on the directive on unfair commercial practices – round table.

How do Civil Dialogue Groups (CDG)’s works and how can you get involved?
Option 1: Assigned member
Assigned members of a CDG can attend CDG meetings and have the right to take the floor. They are assigned following a short and easy application process. IFOAM Organics Europe members who are interested in a seat in the CDGs can write to [email protected]. Following your application, our Board assigns the selected members for a two-years mandate.
Option 2: Observer
It is also possible to join CDG meetings as an observer (online). We make the observer link available to all our members on member extranet > Civil Dialogue Group > Events.
